Chrinoids come in all colours and many different species.  Identification is hard and is based on the stalk like legs and other characters.  You may not notice but the chrinoids come in type types, daytime & nocturnal.  The nocturnal varieties are probably tastier so have to hide during the day.  At sunser they come out from their hiding holes and climp up the rocks to their favorite feeding spots.  Surprisingly these relatively primitive creatures have a sophisticated memory which allows them to climb back to their favourite spots every day.
